Challenge
Banks in the CEE region still offered outdated mobile solutions, with systems fragmented across NWBs.
The incoming PSD2 legislation opened the field to 3rd party providers and provided opportunities to monetise customer behaviour data while also delivering a completely new approach to banking previously absent in the area.
Approach
Worked together with Raiffeisen Bank International to launch Newton, a digital and mobile-first solution aimed at increasing customer engagement and acquiring new customers in the CEE region.
The project developed in parallel on several streams - creating a design system, building feature teams with developers and business analysts, validating new features through research spikes and extensive competitor benchmarking and ultimately onboarding new designers to form an in-house design team.
Outcome
Over 18 months, the team designed a simple, intelligent daily-banking experience for iOS and Android, developing new features, validating design solutions through user research and mentoring internal teams.
The result delivered a product and its consequent design system to optimise future production and ensure design consistency.
