Context
Against a complex technical background, the Diageo Bar Academy sought to redefine its educational content and become a credible voice in the industry.
DBA's mission was to transform young professional's lives by offering training and certifications to raise their professional credibility and the standards of the industry as a whole — no small task.
Challenge
The Diageo Bar Academy had evolved over many years to serve different business objectives. The result of this organic evolution was a collection of legacy digital systems that made it hard to manage content, didn’t work well with brands, and overall made for a poor user experience.
Approach
A team of specialists representing design, technology, content, and education set out to reimagine the Diageo Bar Academy.
Together with Diageo’s product owner, we adopted an iterative design process, regularly testing our assumptions which led to a scalable technical platform that provides a single and focused view of their customer base as well as an easy way to manage the needs of their brands.
Outcome
For the business, we built a scalable technical platform giving a single customer view and a way to manage the needs of the brands.
For the users, we reimagined and repurposed the existing content allowing it to be remixed into hundreds of educational modules creating a highly personalised and best-in-class learning experience.
