As new banks were emerging and gaining popularity amongst the younger generation, HSBC realised it not only needed to maintain the relationship with its existing customers but had to appeal to a new, more mobile and digitally-savvy audience.

Challenge

To deliver a Global User Interface that would accommodate a wide variety of markets and offerings completely independent from each other but under the same brand and consistency user experience.

Process

As a team comprised of 3x UI designers and 2 UX designers with the support of a whole development (front and back end) under the same roof, we could work iteratively and with a "live" pattern library that we could use to rapidly stress test layouts and best adaptive designs for multiple screen sizes.

Outcome

We successfully launched a Global User Interface that would be accessible to every market as well as a new and improved retail banking app for the UK market
